There she is….rings and all. My neighbors didn’t think it was weird at all when I gasped at it’s majesty! They too shared in my glee.
I got a knock on my window at 8:30 or so from J to grab the kids and go across the street and try out W’s new Orion Telescope. I was blessed to see it this way, and kind of thought it looked fake at first. I can’t really tell you what it felt like…except that it was, somehow, validating. Like all those telescopic images I’ve seen thoughout my life were’t all just a conspiracy, and I really existed…here in the universe. It was real! Saturn is real! There it was …orbiting so fast and far that you could only see it for a moment before adjusting and re-focusing. I saw the rings, I saw some striations…I felt close to God.
Thank you, God…for the mysterious universe (and telescopes in the cool neighbor’s yard on a warm spring night to see it!). It’s beautiful, I’ll never forget it.
isn’t the required next comment have something to do w/ the planet that follows saturn? its obligatory. i was required to ask. it is the law.

Don’t worry….Bob already took care of that comment in person. I, personally, have no idea what Uranus looks like.

Ha ha!!! To make this even more amusing…I just found out Uranus is my planet. What ever that means…if you are an Aquarius, then Uranus is your home planet or something like that. Beam me up Scotty!
