[...] Ah, it might somehow be against my heritage to deny it to my lips. Plus, a boiled cabbage, corned beef or beef alternative, potato, soda bread and green beer shake sounds gross. I do wish there was a corned beef alternative…just kidding. You remember my thoughts on tofurkey.
Christy, I'm so glad you cleared that up. I was searching my mental files for MW...

MW is still the devil's candy. And one day I will quit being stubborn and make the deviled egg recipe with miracle whip, just for Bob. But for now---no way jose! Nana would be proud!

I'd like to register my relief it wasn't the other way around. Miracle Whip is one of the key ingredients in my family's tuna salad (coincidentally almost the only thing I know how to cook)

& hey, if anyone needs a recipe (now that no one's talking to me for like M.W.), I found an AWESOME one in the paper this morning for thanksgiving potstickers w/a cranberry sauce (to use your leftovers- turkey/stuffing/potatoes etc!) & will e-mail you the pdf if you e-mail me! :)

How about stuff out of state? Non-Minnesotans?

Are those quartered onions surrounding the tofurkey? They don't look like potatoes to me.

This comment is for Kari (since there's no way for me to email from her name). You can order natural groceries from Whole Farm Co-op and pick them up from one of many many drop sites throughout the state. http://wholefarmcoop.com/

Else, if you go on Amazon.com you can order a bunch of stuff that is organic, but it's mostly pantry stuff. If Simon Delivers has a route to you, try them. My roommates get it and there are organic options and produce there.

So sad about Helman's! I HATE miracle whip!!!

Also...do you have any information on how to get wholesome foods by mail ordering? I am learning that so many people (me included now) don't have access to healthy food. Our only option for groceries that are not expired is Super Walmart unless we want to drive an hour!!! Also, many many people cannot afford to pay the prices of all natural foods...any suggestions there?

I'm glad you are skipping the tofurkey...it looks like the gross fat-like gel that you find inside of canned chicken (no longer eating this by the way!)

Happy T-Day!!!

I'm scared of tofurky myself. But I'm not feeling bad about bringing my own slice of pie made without sugar this year. Though I will fill up on all the glorious dishes at grandma's. And if you're looking for a good alternative to Hellmann's, try Nayonaise. It's made with soy and ever so delicious. But you have to get it in the co-op or "health food nut" section of regular grocery chains.
